Last Epoch’s 1.0 launch was a wild ride, from server meltdowns to the hunt for cosmetic bees. The CEO’s updates kept us informed, but the online mode was a mess. Day two brought relief, but it was a rollercoaster. Offline mode saved the day, and the devs’ communication was stellar. Let’s hope for smoother skies ahead! 🎢🔥 #LastEpochLaunchCraziness

🎮 The Plight of Online Players

The last Epoch situation got even crazier before I logged on to the internet yesterday. The launch situation had evolved and not for the better for most of the online player base. The game’s tremendous 1.0 launch was supposed to stabilize the servers, but they were turned off entirely. This video delves even deeper into the entire reality revolving around last Epoch launch from the plight of the desperate online players like myself and the sheer snarkiness of the kingly offline players to the continued excellent response from Jud cobbler and the rest of the 11th Hour Games Team during this apocalyptic scenario.

🌐 The Surge in Player Numbers

Luckily for the last Epoch developers, the day two of the 1.0 launch started off strong. Dud cobbler AKA MOX, the last EPO game director, began the day with an update in Discord with a bit of a lead and believe this may be related to logging. The game was just above 100,000 concurrent players at that time, readying for a huge peak later in the day.

🌍 International Server Issues

The Europeans got off work leading to a spike in scene transition failures at the moment. Matchmaker was backed up, and there was a spike in transition failures. The servers were not prepared for the huge Peak in player numbers before the launch as there was no experience with such a massive surge.

🦁 Steadfast Amidst the Chaos

Amid the outrage and riots, shockingly, many people remained understanding, acting like adults, even though the complete online server downtime continued for about 5 hours. The CEO’s next update confirmed that online services are recovering and they are investigating reports of players who are unable to log in.

🐝 The "Refer a Friend" Chaos

The refer a friend system caused chaos, with people spamming in-game global chat in Discord, Twitch, and Reddit threads to gain special B cosmetic pets. Due to the overwhelming response, the team decided to temporarily disable the system until the services are stabilized. The players were assured that they’ll receive the rewards by a certain deadline.

🚀 Stabilizing for the Future

The developers have continued to communicate excellently on all fronts and have handled the launch situation well, considering it was their first. Although the online mode faced challenges, the offline mode was prepared, and people are still playing and enjoying the game.

The Final Word

Judging from the communication of the developers and the positive reception from the players, it seems like last Epoch is well on its way to stabilizing after the chaotic launch.
