My Thoughts On Last Epoch

An Arpg with a Twist 🎮

What’s going on everybody morm here this time bringing you my thoughts on last Epoch, an action RPG that just recently released from its Early Access period after a very lengthy time. I believe something like 5 years if my memory serves, but it finally saw its 1.0 release just yesterday from the time of this video but February 21st to be a little more specific. A lot of people have been asking for my opinion about this one, which is why this video is going to straddle something between a review and a checkout video as I don’t quite have time to deep dive this thing completely, especially for a game that is frankly pretty well known.

Familiar Systems, New Approaches 🔄

Last Epoch manages to bridge familiar systems with new approaches that fans of action RPG games will enjoy. The game revolves around picking a class, a bunch of skills, and transforming into a murder machine to wipe out enemies efficiently. The story, while interesting, takes a back seat as the game focuses on time manipulation and time travel.

Character Creation and Customization 🌟

Players can choose from five starter classes and three specializations for each class. The Mastery trees offer an in-depth customization experience, allowing players to tailor their character’s abilities according to their playstyle. The game finds a nice middle ground between simplicity and complexity, making it accessible for all types of players.

Class Specializations
Sentinel Paladin
Acolyte Necromancer
Mage Sorcerer
Rogue
Primalist Druid, Shaman

Gear and Crafting ⚔️

The gear system in Last Epoch is straightforward, following the traditional rarities of magic, uncommon, and rare. The crafting system is a standout feature, allowing players to tailor the gear to their liking with the use of craftable materials. The game also introduces an idol system reminiscent of charms from Diablo, adding passive effects to characters.

Conclusion 🏁

Overall, Last Epoch is an incredibly player-friendly ARPG, with refined systems and quality of life features that make it a worthwhile experience. The combat, while primarily build-dependent, offers a variety of skills and item customization that adds depth to the gameplay.
